沙田马场(sha tin racecourse)是香港的第二个赛马场地，位于新界东部的沙田区火炭东部，是由-兴建及管理，于1978年10月7日落成启用。沙田马场设有草地、泥地跑道共有两个，草地跑道全阔30.5米，周长约1900米，容量为85,000人。场地水平世界一流，也是亚洲顶级的赛马场地。现时每年均举行多项国际大赛，并吸引来自世界各地的顶级人马在此互相角逐。
沙田马场设有两座看台，分为会员席及公众席。会员席招待会员及来宾，公众席则开放予公众人士，入场费10港元。看台设有-大堂，饮食设施等，会员席亦设有会员，马主厢房等设施。场内设有全世界最阔的彩色大屏幕，长70.4米，面积相等于4,500部架叠起来的52厘米电视机，详尽显示每一场赛事的资料及赛果。于看台侧的沙田会所，则为会员提供饮食及康乐设施。马场其他设施包括马房、骑师、练马师及职员宿舍等，另有一座综合大楼供马会使用。

南丫岛，被香港老人称为“博寮洲”，是继大屿山和香港岛之后的第三大岛屿，位于香港岛的南面，面积约14平方公里，岛上的居民大多住在北面地势较平坦、可用作耕地的榕树湾一带。从香港岛坐船过去，只需30分钟就能到达岛的两个港口索罟湾和榕树湾。南丫岛一直是安静祥和的，因此六七十年代后吸引了许多年轻人和居港外籍人士到榕树湾一带聚居，大街上也开设了不少西式餐厅和酒馆，弥漫着一种异国浪漫风情，最有名的酒吧有“旺达喇嘛”，它对面和旁边则是最有名的港式茶餐厅“多见面茶餐厅”和“英记”。除了各国美食云集外，沿着榕树湾道走，一路上都是精致的小店铺，有卖手工艺品的、有卖绿色生活用品的、也有各类自制饼干出售，这儿的人都好像60年代西方的嬉皮士一样热爱朴素自然的生活，又在乎独特的生活品位。其中有一家最值得一去的是“南丫书虫”小店，店内一边卖绿色食物，另一边卖的是中英文旧书，以艺术书为主，店主也是艺术家。

艺术家都喜欢住在山上，我认识的两个年轻人“fred sir”和“志伟”也一样，他们的家在北面山路“家乐径”的两旁遥遥相对。他们俩都是玩音乐的，不过“fred sir”喜欢的是60年代的爵士乐和布鲁斯，志伟喜欢的却是七八十年代的英式摇摆乐。他们的爱好也表现在他们家的装置上，“fred sir”的家一进门就是他自己画的大幅油画：一个萨克斯风演奏家的肖像;志伟的家里却贴满了beatles甲壳虫乐队的海报。俩人只有一个共同点，就是家里音乐总是飘过不停。他们就是这样按自己的方式率性自由地生活着。
南丫岛上这样的人估计还有1000个，所以我建议你到这个“国境之南，太阳之西”的世外桃源玩的时候，多多留意这些“化外之民”，从他们身上，你得到的乐趣和人生启示可能远超过你在那里的绿水青山上得到的。

龙鼓滩(英文：lung kwu tan，旧作lung-ku-tan)位于香港新界屯门的西面，区内有不少特殊建筑，其中香港两家大型发电厂便位于此，附近亦有不少烧烤场设施。一说龙鼓滩亦是南宋名将文天祥笔下《过伶仃洋》中“皇恐滩”(或“惶恐滩”)之地(另一说皇恐滩位于江西省万安县境内，为赣水十八滩之一)。
龙鼓滩初期指当地的一海滩，得名起源自对开的龙鼓洲，因正好位置上对望，及后被延伸指邻近一带地区。龙鼓滩主要分为龙鼓滩及龙鼓上滩两部份，地理上位处青山大冷水西侧，西面临海为龙鼓水道，南面为踏石角，行政上被划归屯门区的乐翠选区。清政府早年将新界割据给英国时，龙鼓滩与及屯门被划归入元朗约，至1969年新界民政署下设7个理民府以管治地方，当中包括屯门理民府，自此龙鼓滩一直归入屯门区发展。
生态及旅游
龙鼓滩是新界西北部海岸线最边陲的地方，其海滩狭长，视野甚广，与白泥成为香港观看日落的著名景点。龙鼓滩对出的龙鼓水道为香港境内几个中华白海豚常见的出没地点之一，海滩北边的小山岗上建有的“中华白海豚观景台”，正是欣赏日落和中华白海豚的良好位置。
龙鼓滩东面为青山，交通所隔，因此较少受人为破坏，具一定生态价值，在村落后的风水林和毗邻的灌丛就有不少蝴蝶凄息在该带，是香港较罕见的红锯蛱蝶的其中一个主要繁殖地，其他不常见的蝴蝶品种还包括异型紫斑蝶(euploea mulciber)、金斑蛱蝶(hypolimnas misippus)和纬带趾弄蝶(hasora vitta)，渔农自然护理署曾在20xx年-20xx年的调查中录有90个蝴蝶品种，曾有团体倡议将该处列为具特殊科学价值地点。
龙鼓滩村后的青山龙门径有不少奇石景观，如面包石等，其中皇帝巌(又称宋王洞)有一传说可追塑至1277年，当时正值南宋之末，蒙古兵南下中原，宋帝昰避走南方，路经香港，而在龙鼓滩留下足迹，据说当时宋帝曾藏匿于该山洞中。
历史建筑
龙鼓滩村内建有一所富历史意义的天后庙，采两进式设计。据发现，庙约建于清朝，光绪年间重修至现有规模。最近一次重修为1988年。庙内有碑记载有关事迹，而庙前对出的空地亦为烹煮盆菜的地方。另外，龙鼓上滩的刘氏宗祠于20xx年1月9日被公开有关评级，目前被古物古迹办事处列作香港三级历史建筑，该建筑建于晚清，近年曾作修缉，为两进式设计，背山面海，供奉著当地客家氏族龙鼓滩刘姓之历代祖先。其附近不远处，为屏山邓族十八世祖若虚祖(若虚书室以其为名)的祖坟。
龙鼓滩过往曾有不少考古发现，统称为沙堤遗址，该带的形成始于约距今6020xx年前，沙堤长度约100米，自1989年4月开始被首次发现，在1993年龙鼓滩发电厂兴建前，学者便曾多次在该带进行抢救斟察。

龙鼓滩村可细为北朗、南朗、笃尾涌、沙埔岗及龙仔五部份。花香炉村则已荒废。龙鼓滩村以刘姓为主，人口约200人，一说为香港最古老的乡村之一。村内有数间祠堂、一间天后庙及一座观音殿，曾获大紫荆勋章的时任新界乡议局主席刘皇发便出自此村，他亦曾任村长一职。附近还有背景与宋皇台相似的皇帝岩。
