《我的母亲》是新课标人教版实验教材《语文》(八年级下册)第一单元第二课。原文选自《胡适自传》,标题是编者加的。它的体裁是传记,堪称文学的传记,传记的文学,既可供胡适研究者参考,具有史料价值,也可供文学爱好者欣赏、阅读,具有文学价值。文章内容翔实,饱含感情,既写出了母亲含辛茹苦教子成龙的追求,又写出在大家庭环境中作为后母维持家庭关系的不容易,表达了爱子对母亲的深深敬意和绵绵无尽的怀念。作者把自己的成长与母亲的教育紧紧联系在一起,着重写出母亲对自己的“做人的训练”,对自己少年时代乃至一生的重大影响,由此表达自己对母亲的理解与感激。从胡适一生的奋斗与追求,从他在学术史上的地位与成就来看,母亲对他的影响是功不可没的。因此,教学本文应该从宏观上确立把握好重点,解决好难点,同时还要注意拓展学生的视野,感悟胡适及其作品所包含的人文内涵。

鉴于上述思考,本文教学时应从三个角度展开,也就是分三个环节进行:

第二个环节,立足课文,感知内容,感悟作者的思想感情。这是本文的教学重点所在,为训练语文能力打下扎实的基础。

第三个环节,立足课文向外看,拓展视野,增长见识,丰富语文素养。

这三个环节的安排由易到难,由课文向课外拓展,主次分明,重点突出。第一个环节的设置,意在让学生从比较中了解本文在内容与写作方面的特点。第三环节是在第二环节进行语文能力训练的基础上完成的,由胡适的作品延伸到他的学术成就,由他对母亲的感情延及他的文化观。

笔者以“文本细读”的方式仔细研读了《云南的歌会》,发现一个很有意思的语言点,那就是“意思”一词。在《云南的歌会》中,沈从文先生两处提到“意思”一词。一处是在第四段“最有意思的是云雀”(言外之意是前面所写的也是有意思的);还有一处是第五段“仅是这个唱法就极其有意思”(言外之意是后面所写的更有意思)。其实,本文在节选时省略了前面一段文字:从马背上研究老问题,不免近于卖呆,远不如从活人中听听生命的颂歌为有意思了(显然,这里的“意思”应是统领全文的)。由此看来,“意思”俨然就是贯穿全文的关键词。我以为,这是一个极有意思的发现,那么,为什么不以“意思”为主线设计一个完整的教学方案呢?于是,就有了以上的教学设计。

1、发现“意思”:

在学生整体感知全文后提出:作者写的这些有意思吗。要求学生静静地默读,用横线划出有意思的地方。交流时,教师及时抓住学生回答的一些语句引导学生进入字里行间去品味其中的意味。

2、没“意思”:

在学生充分感知本文很有意思的时候,有意识的抛出这个问题,一方面是想让学生把分散全文的目光聚焦到第四段的研读上来,从而达“点”“面”结合的教学境界;一方面也是最主要的方面,就是想让课堂的线性推进出现转折,从而使学生的思维从表层感知进入深层探析。通过讨论,让他们明白沈从文在自然环境的描写上之所以不吝啬自己的笔墨,是因为作家认为“产生这种山歌实有原因。如没有一种适当的对象和特殊环境作为土壤,这些歌不会那么素朴、真挚而美妙感人”。

3、作家的“意思”:

本文节选自《记忆中的云南跑马节》,选入教材的部分省略了前面的一段文字:从马背上研究老问题,不免近于卖呆,远不如从活人中听听生命的颂歌为有意思了。引出这段文字,其意在要学生明白沈从文认为“意思”在于“从活人中听听生命的颂歌”,然后抓住这个“活人”的“活”字,利用它的多义性,引导学生再细读文本,然后从文中去发现作家是如何描述这些“活生生的”“鲜活的”“充满活力”的生命状态的。
