1、留言条是走访别人而没有遇见时，或者给暂时没在家中的家人留下的说明情况的便条。
可以在便条上写需要对别人讲的话，让对方知道。有时替别人接电话，写个便条转告别人，也叫留言条。
2、留言条由称呼、正文、落款三部分组成。（1）称呼：抬头顶格写对收条者的称呼，不宜直呼其名，通常在姓后面加上尊称，如“李老师”，“李先生”，“张师傅^v^等，后面加冒号。
旧式写法将称呼放在正文后面，用“此致xxx”的形式。（2）正文：另起一行，从第三行起，前空两格，陈述所要说明的内容。
一般要将所要表达的事情的各个要素（何时，何地，何人，何事）讲清楚。（3）落款：比较随意，如果是熟悉的人写个姓加上日期就可以了，不太熟悉的则宜写上全名和日期。
3、写留言条必须注意这样几点：①留言条不宜具体详细地叙述拜访的意图和事项。②必须把要告诉给别人的事写清楚，如需面谈，就要写明另约的时间、地点。
