yes, there are various kinds of museums in china, such as the museums of modern art, museums of science and industry, and museums of nature.
2. do you think museums are useful for visitors to your hometown?
sure, i believe museums are a great educational tool. both adults and kids can gain an understanding of history and culture there.
3. do you often visit a museum?
actually, i seldom visit museums coz there is only an art museum in my hometown and i am weak in understanding the deeply meaning of the work of art.
4. did you go to any museums when you were a child?
yes, when i was child, my dad took me to the nature museum in my hometown. i was very interested in dinosaurs and i enjoyed the dinosaur models as well as the fossils of dinosaurs. and before we went home, my dad also bought me some souvenir and books.
5. do you think museums are important?
sure. museums are pretty important. adults and kids can get a chance to acquire new knowledge in different aspects. also,hands-on exhibits and models showing in the museums can surely bring science and arts alive for them.
6. do you think it’s suitable for museums to sell things to visitors?
well, i should say it would be a good idea for the museums to sell things related to the exhibitions to visitors. visitors can keep them as souvenirs or sending them as gifts to friends. for those non-profit museums, they would have a larger budget to improve their conditions and services if they can increase their income by selling things to visitors. however, there are some museums selling some products at a high price to visitors. i would think it’s not suitable, because museums are mainly for the public interest.
7. when was the last time you visited a museum?
actually, i treat different kinds of museums as a place for hanging out with my friends, so last sunday we went to the science museum together. we joined the workshops to learn the practical science around us and also get to know more about the latest science and technology.
8. are there many (or, any) museums in your hometown?
not so many, actually there is only one museum in my small county about the local history. it allows the local residents to know better about their traditions and historical celebrities.

i’d like to describe an experience that i helped a friend of mine. this friend whose name is mark is my high school classmate, and we’ve been friends for over 10 years now. even though, i’ve been living and working in another city in recent years, we still keep in contact and remain close.
it happened two months ago when i received a phone call from mark. well, normally we chat on wechat rather than talk on the phone, so i just had a hunch that there was something serious. like i expected, mark felt a little weird in his voice. it felt as if there was something he wanted to say but found it hard to get the words out. in order to help with situation, i just asked him what was going on and urged him tobe straight with me. a it turned out, he was planning to buy a new apartment but was low on money, so he hoped that i would lend him 20,000 yuan for his down payment. without any hesitation, i said yes and asked for his bank account number so that i could wire the money to him.
the reasons why i helped him were simple. he is my friend, probably the only good friend i’ve ever had and am going to have, so i felt it my responsibility to lend a helping hand, well in this case, money. besides, 20,000 yuan wasn’t too much for me at that time, but it would mean a lot for mark and his plan of buying a new house. so, i saw no reason why i shouldn’t help him out. i felt good of course because i just helped a person i really cared about. mark promised to pay me back in one month, and i wasn’t worried at all because mark was always good for his words.

well, i think it is normal to offer help when other people meet difficulties. i have been helped and i also have helped others. from the experience, i could feel that i am warmly treated. however, not every time when we offer help, our sympathy is well received and appreciated. i remember one time that i was ill-treated. it happened in a park. when i was walking on the path, a middle-aged man approached me and he looked extremely anxious. he told me that he was about to see his son in the just received a call from his son’s teacher and got the news that his son was seriously injured. thus he needed to get to the hospital as soon as possible. however, his wallet was stolen on the bus, and he asked me to lend him money to take a taxi. at first i was very hesitant and i was worried that it might be a fraud. but then the man offered me his driving license and asked me to keep it as a guarantee and that he would definitely pay me back and get back his driving license. so i took his words and lent him 200 yuan.
however, when i tried to contact this man the following day, he didn’t answer the cell phone. after i tried a few more times, he turned off the phone. it was not until then that i noticed that i was duped. i felt very disappointed. i would definitely be more watchful next time.
this experience teaches me a lesson. you should never be cheated by the thing you see through your eyes. people can’t lose their sympathy towards the weak, but necessary observation and suspect is reasonable when people are ready to offer help to somebody.
